How Soy Milk
Is Made
Silk® Soymilk starts with only high-quality, non-GMO whole soybeans for our products. Some soy milk products use highly processed soy (isolated soy protein), but Silk starts by using only whole soy beans, so you get more of the goodness that soy offers. Starting with whole soy beans helps give Silk Soymilk its smooth, rich taste without any cholesterol.
Silk Soymilk only uses non-genetically modified (non-GMO) soybeans grown on farms throughout the US and around the world. Once the beans are ready, they are carefully harvested and sent to the processing plants.
Silk Soymilk is made by carefully grinding whole soy beans in filtered water, and the okara (mostly insoluble fiber) is removed while keeping the heart-healthy soy protein and other soy benefits. We mix in just the right amounts of filtered water, natural sweeteners, vitamins, minerals and necessary ingredients to provide that great Silk taste. We package the final product in our single serve, quart, or half gallon packaging and send the final product out to your store’s shelves.
This process gently delivers the heart-healthy soy protein, isoflavones and other nutrients.
We refrigerate our products to make sure our Silk arrives at your table tasting as fresh as can be. At Silk, taste and nutrition are top priorities.
