In 1980 Akasha became chef at the Golden Temple, one of the legendary natural food restaurants in Los Angeles. Akasha defined her own style of cuisine with a critically acclaimed menu and a bakery full of sugar-free cookies, cakes and pies. She brought her knowledge of "foods that heal" to everything she created, and to some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Akasha has been catering parties and events in Los Angeles since 1985. She is the chef/owner of Akasha's Visionary Cuisine, which has prepared meals and catered parties for numerous Hollywood events and celebrities including Billy Bob Thornton, Pierce Brosnan, Barbra Streisand and Al Pacino.

A long-time proponent of soy foods, Akasha is the spokesperson for Silk® Soymilk, the number one soy-based consumer packaged goods brand in the nation. She has served her Silk® based recipes at the EMA awards, backstage at the Grammy's and Farm Aid, and at ChefDance during the Sundance Film Festival. In addition, she has been the guest chef for the Organic Trade Association's annual dinner for 1,000 guests at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim and has coordinated events for the Environmental Media Association, The Organic Center and the Organic Farming Research Foundation. She has appeared on Access Hollywood, HGTV and local LA and New York Fox, NBC and ABC news programs.

She is also the cofounding chef of Eaturna, an all-natural food company devoted to revolutionizing the way people eat with delicious and beneficial meals for every day.

Akasha is a contributing editor for Vegetarian Times magazine. Her new cookbook Hollywood Dish, released January 2006, celebrates Hollywood’s 100-year passion for organic foods and healthy living.
